In 2024, the annual ITF World Tennis Masters Tour MT700 was held in Sanremo again and attracted numerous international players. The competitions ranged from the ladies and gentlemen of the 30 age group to the athletes of the 75 age group.
Toalson ambassador Udo Plamberger, who was the number two seed, made his debut in Italy. In the first round, he faced the strong local player Alberto Bodino. In a thrilling match, Plamberger prevailed 6:2, 6:2, putting in an impressive performance.
In the semi-final, he faced the number four of the tournament, Frenchman Michael Benichou. This duel took place in intense heat, but Plamberger was not deterred. With a commanding 6:4, 6:2 victory, he secured his place in the final, in which he once again demonstrated his dominance.
The final was a clash between the two top seeds: Udo Plamberger, ranked 19th in the world, and Henrik Müller-Frerich, ranked 1st in the tournament and 13th in the world. Müller-Frerich started as the slight favourite, but Plamberger sent a clear signal from the outset. He constantly put his opponent under pressure and kept him on the move. With two breaks per set, Udo triumphed impressively with 6:2, 6:2.
This victory not only earned him the title, but also 700 valuable points that catapulted Plamberger to a career high. This success has now propelled him to 12th place in the ITF Masters Tour rankings. Toalson congratulates his ambassador, who plays with them Toalson Tournament-Tennis Racket S-Mach Pro 97 (310g) and favours the Rencon 1,30mm as his personal tennis string.
